Upon a thunder-stricken heath, Macbeth, Thane of Glamis, is given a curious prophecy by three strange women – he is to be king. When the details of the prophecy start to come true Macbeth starts to wonder, could it be real? And if it is, can he do what it takes to succeed to the throne?
